What it actually is.
Lion is a straightforward botanical oil blend: rosemary, argan, castor and jojoba, with nothing prescription-only in it. It's the product we point people at when they're not sure where to start, when they're too young or too old for prescription treatment, or when they simply want to look after their scalp.
It's versatile by design. Used as a pre-wash treatment it conditions the scalp and softens the lengths before shampoo strips them; used sparingly on dry ends it's a finishing oil. Either way, a little goes a long way — most people use far too much the first time.

Rosemary oil
A long-standing traditional scalp ingredient, used for its conditioning properties.
Argan oil
Rich in vitamin E — softens the lengths without a heavy feel.
Castor oil
A thick, classic conditioning oil that coats and protects the hair shaft.
Jojoba oil
Structurally close to the scalp's own sebum, so it absorbs rather than sitting on top.

Warm it
A few drops in your palms, rubbed together. Start with less than you think you need.

Scalp first
Massage into the scalp in sections, then draw whatever's left through the lengths.

Let it sit
Twenty minutes as a pre-wash treatment, or overnight on a towel if you want to go further.

Wash out
Shampoo as normal — you may need two rounds. Or skip the wash and use a couple of drops on dry ends as a finish.
