What it actually is.
The GOAT is a prescription beard treatment. Minoxidil, the same active used for scalp hair loss, is applied to the skin under the beard to encourage dormant follicles into their growth phase and thicken the hairs already there. The alcohol-free base means it can be used on the face without drying it out.
It's for men aged 18 to 65 with patchy, sparse or slow beard growth on healthy skin. A prescriber reviews your answers first, because minoxidil isn't suitable for everyone — in particular, some heart conditions and some skin conditions rule it out.

Follow the directions on the bottle
Your prescriber's directions and the label come first.

Clean, dry skin
One or two pumps onto the patchy areas, morning and evening, before any oil or balm.

Into the skin, not the hair
Massage in with fingertips, then wash your hands. Let it dry before anything goes on top.

Give it time
Change typically starts from eight to twelve weeks. Stopping lets the beard return to how it was.

- Itching, dryness, flaking or redness of the skin
- Unwanted hair growth where the spray runs — cheekbones, neck, hands
- Headache
- Rarely: dizziness, a fast heartbeat, or swelling of the hands, feet or face
- If you are under 18 or over 65
- If you are a woman, pregnant, or breastfeeding
- If the skin under your beard is broken, inflamed, infected or sunburnt
- If you have heart disease, angina, an irregular heartbeat, low blood pressure or uncontrolled high blood pressure, unless your prescriber has agreed
- If you are allergic to minoxidil
- Keep away from the eyes, mouth and nose; rinse with cool water if it gets in.
- Wash your hands after every application.
- Don't use other minoxidil products at the same time unless your prescriber has agreed.
- Stop and contact us if you get chest pain, palpitations, faintness or sudden weight gain.
