Cockatoo is the one product in the range that makes no claims about your follicles at all. It's a styling clay, and its job is how your hair looks today: matte finish, pliable hold, and enough grip to give finer hair some visible body.
The shine is the point. Wet-look pomades and gels flatten hair against the scalp and catch the light in exactly the places thinning shows, which is why a matte clay reads as thicker even when nothing about the hair has changed. It stays workable through the day and washes out with one round of shampoo.
