Liposomal glutathione is glutathione wrapped in a protective layer of lipids (the same kind of fatty molecules your cells are built from), forming tiny spheres called liposomes.
Glutathione is notoriously difficult to absorb from an ordinary supplement, because much of it is broken down in the digestive tract before your body can take it up. The liposome is designed to shield the glutathione on that journey, so more of it survives digestion and reaches the bloodstream.
And this isn't just theory. In a human trial on our own liposomal glutathione, peak blood levels reached nearly four times higher than standard, non-liposomal glutathione at the same 500mg dose, with no adverse events reported.*

GSH vs. GSSG Glutathione
Glutathione exists in the body in two forms, and they're easy to confuse.
GSH is the reduced form of glutathione, the active, ready-to-use form.
GSSG is the oxidised form, created when two glutathione molecules bond together.
Your body naturally cycles between the two, converting one into the other and back again as part of its normal internal chemistry, and a healthy body holds most of its glutathione as GSH.
When a supplement just says "glutathione," it isn't always clear which form you're getting. Ours is GSH, the reduced form, and it's the same form used in our clinical bioavailability trial.
